A genuine 2018 local currency note from the Lake District. The Lake District Pound (LD£) is the region’s local currency. You could spend it interchangeably with Sterling, in businesses where you saw the LD£ sign. It supports their communities. Only local businesses accepted this LD£. 

This note was issued in 2018 and was valid until 31 January 2019. The LD£20 represents ‘Love for the Landscape’ and features Victorian thinker and artist John Ruskin, as well as Dorothy and William Wordsworth and a view across Grasmere to Helm Crag.
